Hope is Action

Dear Friends,

Election night 2024 brought incredible change to this country. Many feel overwhelmed or find it difficult to hold on to hope.

The work of fighting for justice day in and out is hard and it takes years—even lifetimes. But we are in it for the long haul. For us, hope is action: facing the most challenging realities in our justice system and standing up for the marginalized and forgotten.

We live that hope each and every day. We take heart in the truth that the work we do matters and it makes a difference.

Those most targeted in times of significant political change are precisely the people we serve. So in the days, weeks, and years ahead, Texas Defender Service will continue to do the work we have forged for over a quarter century: fight for justice for the vulnerable, overlooked, and persecuted.

That fight is more important now than ever before.
